Originally by: Zylatis No...i admitted not having been in a situation where i didnt like the way cynojammers worked. However having 'discussed' this i will concede that given their HP a change is probably called for. As for jumpbridges not functioning with a cynojammer up...well...perhaps.
Why yes, being able to deploy defensive capitals and supercapitals easily through a jumpbridge is perfectly fine when the attacking forces are using purely battleships and smaller.

The only "evidence" of them not being fine so far has been provided by the RSF v BoB war. And even there it has been provided in extremely limited amounts (as in: one side complaining about them only).
Let's see what happens if and when cynojammers end up being challenged in other parts or by other parties in Eve shall we ?
This war after all, is not exactly typical for normal gameplay.
oh, and may i add how terribly surprised we all are that good old bane glorious the titan nerf boy wonder showed up as soon as the goons failed to incap a cynojammer a few times. I'm sure CCP realise how even balance discussions are tools in alliance warfare these days. If not, well, I'll be happy to remind them.
So tell me, say BoB was attempting to take a cynojammed system. How would they go about it when the defending side has multiple titans and a huge fighter swarm in system ready to go?

do another system =? trick enemy , have FC that actually knows what hes doing , goons stfu really this wa waa cyno jammers suck waa waa etc. comes mostly from RSF perspective really... deal with it and dont complain about every single game mechanics there is , ccp if u really wanna change pos warfare , do something in terms of pos spam, maybe present a sov pos that can be deployed only 1 per system....or remove them at all and make sov outposts or something ,make eve more agile and fun
Post with your main. And try to actually use English next time.
Zeus, nice job failing to actually address my question. There is no valid tactic to counteract a massive capital and supercapital blob using non-capital ships. And if we attack a different system you can just move your capitals over to it using jumpbridges very quickly and easily.

Edited by: Waterfowl Democracy on 10/03/2008 11:10:45 No point trying to argue with BoB on this one. They know they're never going to have to attack a cynojammer so they want them as strong as possible.
However, for anyone more reasonable listening perhaps they could think back to the hilarious whining about the titan nerf that the exact same people came up with. About how they had spent billions on their titans and therefore should be unkillable. About how it was perfectly acceptable for there to be no valid counter to their use. About how it would be so horrible to reduce their power even a little. Remember how that went? Titans were nerfed, now they are still a formidable tool on the field and an asset to any alliance equivalent to their cost but they are killable in the right conditions. No they aren't useless, they are just not a completely unkillable monster.
Also TWD, if you have as large a capital/supercapital fleet as both sides in the war have it's not hard to get enough of them to log on when given the word to make it impossible to take the cynojammer down. Especially if you have titan pilots willing to fail their tertiary education in order to be on call 23/7 (say hi to Orange Species for me will you?).

Guys, guys, clearly having multiple titans defending a cynojammed system isn't a realistic idea and hasn't actually occured within the past week on tranquility.
